Astana International Forum is a major international platform bringing together thought leaders, policymakers, and experts from around the world.
Alongside my colleague, I provided simultaneous interpretation for panel discussions on:
- The Next Decade of Power: Redefining Global Influence - The Challenges of Reconstruction: Toward a New Balance in the Middle East - Kazakhstan and Africa: Unlocking New Frontiers of Cooperation - Digital Asset Revolution: Astana on the Global Map of Digital Finance - Sovereign Green Bonds: Unlocking Financing for National Sustainability Agenda
These were live, unscripted discussions, which made preparation critical. My work involved:
- Studying topics like blockchain, CBDCs, and green finance - Reviewing past talks by the speakers to understand their delivery style - Researching institutional names and agreements in both languages - Developing subject-specific glossaries in advance
This project once again highlighted the multifaceted nature of interpreting — blending language, context, critical thinking, and real-time decision-making.
